One company who specialises in selling fancy dress were looking to expand their items for sale on EBay. They had some particular items in mind, but before investing in stock of these products, they wanted to manage their risk and find out how successful they would be selling the new items.
So they needed to know how may sellers were currently selling the product which would help them understand the demand for the product – how difficult it would be to successfully sell the item against the competition and how likely they would be able to gain market share?
So they turned to FASTINTELL to research the competition for their potential new items !
The fancy dress company wanted to know whether they should sell a Where’s Wally costume and this is what they found out – there were 1700+ items listed and we can see the top ranked seller is ‘madaboutcostumes’ – we can also drill down to look further at their listings . FASTINTELL informs us that the top seller has 12 listings and that they have sold 6687 Where’s Wally items.
This tells us the competition is strong !! We have also been able to determine from the reports that the best selling costumes are for kids and the leading brand supplier is a company called Smiffys.
The Fast Intelligence reports allow us to see ‘at a glance’ charts showing average price and postage charged, quantity sold by sellers, quantity listed by individual top sellers and number of listings by top sellers.
